AU-SCHOPPERNAU, AUSTRIA SKI HOLIDAYS

Au & Schoppernau are neighbouring ski holiday resorts in the Bregenzerwald ski region, Vorarlberg. The ski lift from Schoppernau accesses the Diedamskopf ski area above the resort for a mixture of intermediate and beginner skiing and snowboarding. For better skiers and snowboarders there is some great off-piste to tackle as well as some reasonably steep blacks from the Diedamskopf peak. Bregenzerwald and the Diedamskopf are located in the snowiest ski region in the Alps, the quantity of snow is unbeaten in the Alps.

AU-SCHOPPERNAU - DIEDAMSKOPF POWDER SNOW & OFF-PISTE

The ski holiday resorts of Au & Schoppernau serve the Diedamskopf ski area that links over two peaks, Diedamskopf and Falzer Kopf. Most of the skiing takes place on the Diedamskopf side and there is a good range of terrain for the skier or snowboarder, although the lower slopes down into Schoppernau are not for beginners. There is a beginners ski area located close to the base lift station and the terrain is generally good for beginners between the top and mid-station of the Diedamskopf gondola. The one thing that the Bregenzerwald is noted for more than any other is the snow record, the region around Au-Schoppernau gets more snow than anywhere else in the Alps. The snow fall accumulations in the Bregenzerwald ski region are incredible. So for those looking for some off-piste powder skiing or snowboarding then statistically Au-Schoppernau and the Bregenzerwald is the place for you. Heading down beneath the Diedamskopf ski lift there are some great off-piste routes that offer steep terrain and are often deep in powder snow.
