The Gastein valley offers several internationally renowned ski resorts and a world championship downhill ski run.
The ski resorts of Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein lie south of Salzburg in the Hohe Tauern National Park, home of the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner.
The ski resorts form the Gastein Super Ski area and offer around 250 km of ski piste. Snow reliability is good and there is a good deal of powder opportunities for the advanced skiers. The Gastein valley is famed for its spas and they are just one distraction amongst many away from the slopes.
