Filzmoos is the ideal ski resort for families wanting a relaxed ski holiday close to Salzburg
The ski resort is located under the beautiful Bishops Mitre peaks, rock formations that dominate the horizon. The skiing is best suited to the intermediate and beginner level and reaches a top altitude of only 1630m and covers a fairly small area. That said, within reach are the ski area of Zauchensee and Flachau, both offering more advanced and expansive terrain. The peaceful pace of life in resorts is well in tune with the hot air balloons that regularly fill the sky, a feature aided by the local traffic restrictions. There is much to do away from the ski pistes, including horse- and dog-drawn sleigh rides, winter walking and toboggan rides.
