Located in the Hohe Tauern National Park, the visitor to Rauris is treated to some of the finest and most unspoilt natural surroundings in Austria. The National Park contains the highest mountain in Austria, the mighty Grossglockner. The destination is well suited to families with pretty gentle terrain and activities away from the slopes such as flood lit tobogganing. The resort has childcare facilities as well as wellness / spa facilities for the adults to relax and rejuvenate. The majority of the skiing is beginner and intermediate level and tree-lined and there is little in the way of advanced terrain within the boundaries of the Rauris ski area.
