Brixen im Thale is part of the ski welt area that includes the resorts of Soll, Ellmau, Shceffau and Hopfgarten. The resort and ski area also form the bridge between the ski welt area and the Westendorf / Kitzbuhel ski region. For the 2008/09 winter the Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser ski region is to be lift linked with the Westendorf / Kitzbuhel ski area via Brixen im Thale to form the largest lift linked ski region in Austria. It is possible to ski from Kitzbuhel into, and right across the ski welt area, in a single day. The distance covered is large, taking in numerous ski area and utilising the new Ki-West lift that connects Westendorf with Kitzbuhel. The ski area runs down from beneath the Hohe Salve, down into the resort and generally consists of gentle pistes, best suited to beginners and intermediates.
