Kelchsau is located 7km from the Ski Welt ski resort of Hopfgarten. Kelchsau is part of the Wilder Kaiser – Brixental Ski Welt area but has no direct access to the vast Ski Welt ski area.
Kelchsau has a compact ski area just above the attractive village. The roads beyond Kelchsau are effectively forest trails meaning the village of Kelchsau has little traffic and a wonderfully quiet atmosphere.
Whilst the ski area and lift systems are of limited size, Kelchsau shares a ski pass with the Ski Welt ski area where 250kms of ski piste and almost 100 ski lifts are on offer.
