Ski holidays in the world famous ski holiday resort of Kitzbuhel
Kitzbuhel is synonymous with fur coats, ski racers and big hotels. Whilst this may be true, Kitzbuhel offers almost everything as well it has good value accommodation, great apr่s ski and much of the ski terrain tends to suit the intermediate rather than the budding racer.
Kitzbuhel is possibly the most atmospheric ski resort in Austria, if not beyond. It has a great deal of shops, bars and restaurants and despite some exclusive boutiques, the town retains a real working feel with locals and visitors mixing. Connections are excellent with trains to Innsbruck and Salzburg and there are numerous ski resorts included on the Kitzbuheler Alpen ski pass. Skiers can actually ski into the Ski Welt ski region from Kitzbuhel, via Westendorf, the terrain is fairly gentler and it makes for a good adventure over quite a big distance. Kitzbuhel is popularised by the downhill ski race in January but much of the extensive ski terrain is gentle and well suited to intermediate skiers.
