The Stubai Glacier offers snow guaranteed, high altitude skiing that is best suited to intermediates and beginners. There is accommodation at the base station but the majority of guests stay a few kilometres away in one of the bustling resorts around Neustift. The Stubai Glacier offers a massive ski terrain to explore and breathtaking views into Italy and across the Tirol. Equipped with a modern lift system and boasting over 100km of ski pistes the Stubai Glacier offers excellent skiing year round. Summer skiing is possible but not nearly as expansive as the winter months from October onwards. Many weeks before other ski areas open the Austrian glaciers offer early season and snow-sure skiing. During the winter months, the high altitude of the Stubai Glacier usually ensures that the snow quality and quantity is better than at resorts located at lower altitudes. December and January can provide cold weather but when the sun is out, the Stubai Glacier can offer spectacular views and great beginner and intermediate skiing.

The ski pistes are wide, long and gentle. There are some steep pistes and off-piste skiing but the Stubai Glacier certainly provides for the intermediate who wants to cruise on great snow. The run out to the base station is a 13km ski route that can be either good in the right conditions or awful when it is icy. It is also subject to some considerable traffic around 4pm so it always worth setting out that bit earlier.
