Bode flies in the final Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm practice on the Streif
Didier Cuche had to settle for 2nd as a resurgent Bode proves if he is on his game there are few to touch him, during the final practice on the Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm Streif downhill course. The practice was brought forward due to worsening weather and it is snowing right now in Innsbruck and snow is forecast for today in Kitzbuhel. It seems like the Austrian army will be shoveling again before the race. The top 10 finishers in for the 2010 Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm race are as follows:
1 Bode Miller USA 1:52.21
2 Didier Cuche SUI +0.12
3 Andrej Sporn SLO 0.41
4 Aksel Lund Svindal NOR 0.46
5 Mario Scheiber AUT 0.49
6 Michael Walchhofer AUT 0.51
7 Tobias Grünenfelder SUI 0.59
8 Christof Innerhofer ITA 1.18
8= Adrien Theaux FRA 1.18
10 Ivica Costelic CRO 1.20
here are my bets for the races:
super g:
1. raich (AUT)
2. janka (SUI)
3. walchhofer (AUT)
downhill:
1. Cuche (SUI)
2. Scheiber (AUT)
3. Svindal (NOR)
4. Miller (USA)
slalom:
1. herbst (AUT)
2. lizeroux (FRA)
3. hirscher (AUT)
I think if you offered that to the Austria coaches right now they would bite your hand off - I think you are about right in the downhill although I think Bode is going to do it. The Blitz from Pitz in the Super G - not sure? I have seen him come close so many times but I don’t see him winning. I watched Herbst ski out last year and his coach gave him some feedback near the gate he missed - he looked very fu&*ed off!
My prediction
If the Austrian Local is allowed anywhere near a ski racer in his prime it may be the end for him. Rumour has it hewas in the same bar as Herman Maier the night before he crashed his bike.
Rumours of the Austrianlocal being in a bar could probably by verified in almost every instance over the last 20 years. I think he might well have introduced the concept of BYO to Australia. as well if rumours are true of a visit to the Swiss Team hotel a few years ago.
