Cold and great snow in the Zillertal

Austria continues to see very cold and clear conditions. Today I was in the linked ski area of Hochzillertal and Hochfugen. At first there was widespread cloud cover and very flat light but as the morning wore on the skies cleared leaving superb cloud formations. The area was busy as it is the easiest of the Zillertal ski holiday resorts to reach from the north and offers an extensive ski area, rising up to 2500m. In the sun and low down the temperatures were ok but high up and in the shade the temperatures were biting cold. Great for the snow conditions though that remained excellent despite no new snow for 3 days or so now. Views were superb with fantastic cloud formations across the horizon.
