Just back from a day in the Zugspitz Arena on the border of Austria and Germany. Amazing views from the top of the Zugspitz but the wind was brutal and temperatures must surely have fallen to -40c with the wind chill factored in. Views across the plains of Germany or south to the Alps were on offer from the northern border of the Alps. As you can guess I spent most of the time looking south across endless peaks and glaciers. Later we skied at Ehrwald and had some nice piste skiing in slightly warmer (if still some way below zero) temperatures. Ehrwald was packed with holidaying families, with the weather set to remain cold and sunny through next week.
