Extreme wind and cold on the Stubai Glacier today
After the great weather and conditions on the Stubai Glacier yesterday today brought extreme wind conditions and with a bitingly cold southerly wind blowing across the southern glaciers in Austria. The Föhn wind can wreak havoc on the ski areas and today the extremely strong Föhn wind closed the Stubai Glacier around lunchtime. One of the best aspects of this wind is that when it ends it usually dumps snow and that is what is forecast for tomorrow. A quick snow report from the Stubai Glacier today in the extreme winds:
