That would be great. The local area at Birgitz, the mid-station at Mutters or the base-station at Axamer Lizum are all good for kids. Mutters and Axamer Lizum have pretty good kids facilities on hand. Birgitz had a great stubl located at the bottom of the ski lift with a kids play area for the children and a bar for the adults. Just getting kids on snow is the most important thing

Great images the conditions at Axamer. Looks possible that a Brown family trip may occur this season . I'm just working out a couple of details then maybe we'll get Hayden on a tractor innertube in Goetzens !

We had a customer recently who wanted to combine a ski holiday with a hunting trip – that was a first for us. We got him a stay in the Stubai Valley – tons of snow but little left in the mountains to gun down – it seems the locals have managed to eradicate anything on 4 legs. My last kill was in NZ – goats (that are a serious threat to the eco-system there) – no idea what the cartridge to hit ratio was but it wasn’t spectacular. Getting grey here tomorrow but should be dumping snow –lull over the weekend and then more next week.

John, I will go on record as saying your appreciation in meeting the austrianlocal, whilst not out of the ordinary is certainly not universal. I can find little to fault the man on or off the slopes but he has ruffled a few feathers over the years. Glad that you found a soul mate – bis Saalbach!

Who are the NZ 'er and the Brit ? The snow you have there is impressive . We here in blighty are able to brag about our own weather ,we have some of the wettest roads, greyist skies and mightily pissed off citizens this side of the Urals.Oh yeh and we have approx 7.5 hours of greyness. The wife is ready to leave and go back to Maine.

I have gone half on a .22 beauty ,my co owner is the Master of Disaster .He cannot hit a barn door at 10 yards. We are realiably informed that colared doves and wood pigeons are vermin and edible. Hugh Fearnly Wittingstall rates them highly. The ones that nest over our car and turn it into a mine field of poop will regret their next meeting with me .

The hunting section of Dick's sporting goods ( Bangor Maine - lots of guns ) will sell me a lazer dot scope for less than the price of an indian meal for two with poppadums.

Wildlife is well and truly on our menu and this may go some way to easing the winter blues.

It is great news unless you are heading for Stubai Glacier – that closed the second day running. A group of friends were heading up there to find it closed again for the second day. Lots of snow coming down though and set to fall all day tomorrow as well and quite a bit for the start of the weekend. Luckily for the bar owners of Innsbruck the closure of the Stubai Glacier will lead to a significant windfall – a new Zealander and a Brit are currently lapping up everything Innsbruck can throw at them.
