It’s snowing – anyone coming skiing?

I'm going, who's joining?

I'm going, who's coming?

The Austrian Alps are currently getting hit with the first real snow of the winter and around Innsbruck today there was endless and heavy snowfall. Down in Innsbruck at 575m there was cold air and very heavy rain. The freezing level was around 1200m and for the ski areas of the tirol and the glaciers in particular, the snow accumulations today were pretty big by any measure. Josh is now 5 and a half months old and got to see his first snow today – he is around half way to his ski experience. Dad is less restricted - the glaciers are calling. The Pitztal Glacier, Hintertux Glacier, Stubai Glacier, Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, Kaunertal Glacier and Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers at Solden have all had significant snow over the last few days and it is set to continue for the next 6 days at least. The Arlberg resorts as usual are set to have a great base putting down whilst the Ski Amade resorts of Flachau, Zauchensee and Schladming have done pretty well. The freezing level in the Ski Welt resort of Soll, Ellmau, Scheffau and Westendorf was about 1300m today and that is set to fall significantly over the coming days with snow down to resort level likely.

Well I am no employment law specialist but as far as I know Josh pics do not yet contravene any laws even if I am shamelessly exploiting him for marketing purposes. This Kathy will be the first of a deluge of Josh ski images, culminating in him holding aloft Olympic Gold in 2032. By that stage dad might be skiing blues tentatively. Josh son, you are my pension scheme, ski well!

A little birdy told me that actually the legendary Josh was completely uninterested in his first snow experience the other day! I think things had better change :)

Tragically josh has an off day when he went on his first snow familiarisation mission in our garden. Fatigue or hunger did indeed conspire to render his first jaunt into the white world a mixed success.
