May 2010 means mid-winter in the Tirol

Not the best advert for spring and early summer in the Austrian Tirol but superb for those looking for some late season powder, the weather this week in the Innsbruck region is more like March than May with snow down to 1500m and heavy snow forecast on the glaciers in the coming days. Since the powder days in October 2009 this means 8 months of heavenly skiing on the glaciers and really don’t rule out June for some further powder action - in which case that just leaves July, August and September for chores, barbeques and reviews of videos from the last winter.
