Stunning Stubai - Neustift and Fulpmes-Schlick
Today was one right out of the blue - the forecasts were not good and high winds were expected but as the morning wore on it was clear there were some great conditions in the mountains. None more so than in the Stubai Valley - famed for the Stubai Glacier but also offering some other great ski options including Elfer and Schlick 2000.
I raced between the 2 today and the views into the Pinnistal were something special.

You can also catch a short video of the Elfer ski area that is located directly above Neustift and has a new gondola running from close to the resort centre:
wow what a great name for a valey - pinnistal!
Hey Bard, yes I am not sure if the locals get the name association but the valley could well be hit with one of the genders that is for sure. Austria and Germany are littered with some pretty colourful names that correspond to English equivalents. Fantastic valley tucked away off the main Stubai Valley with plenty of huts to stop in.
It looks gorgeous up there - I want to tobogann there at the weekend!! Is it a long run??
Hi Chelle, the tobogganing is really great in the Pinnistal and it is lift accessed with toboggans to rent at the base-station in Neustift. How long depends on how many stops. There are some extremely tempting mountain huts along the valley and the toboggan track.
