Gerlos and the Zillertal Arena delivered a big, big powder day today. Zell am Ziller had similar snow but the low cloud conditions were best in Gerlos where the sun broke through for some good periods. The powder snow was superb. Check out our latest snow report from the slopes of Gerlos today:

Today the Zillertal Arena hosted the Stroh Juchee ‘sled race’ - Austria once again proving that it can do the bizarre as well as anyone with the USS Enterprise and a group of cross-dressed, beauty pageant farmers gracing the event. The Zillertal seemed to do pretty well out of the latest snowfall in Austria over night. With just 10cm or so falling in the Innsbruck region there was genuine powder skiing today in the Zillertal Valley. The ski areas in the Zillertal 3000 including Finkenberg and Lanersbach had some great powder today as did Mayrhofen. [...]

Here in Innsbruck the weather has been very wet, windy and for the areas above the freezing level (today that was about 1100m in Innsbruck) there has been big accumulations of snow. Back from an enjoyable day on the Hintertux Glacier yesterday, with great early summer skiing under blue skies and still with a great cover of snow. The Hintertux Glacier freestyle park was in full flow yesterday with a multinational mix of skiers and snowboarders taking advantage of the sunny weather of soft snow for landings. [...]
