Hi Jonathan, yes you can buy your pass at the Wildschönauer Bergbahnen, Auffach 273, 6313 Wildschönau. Not sure of the locals price but somewhat less than the standard price. I think you have to have your documents no less than 30 days old so the sooner the better really. The pass will work on all the tirolean glaciers apart from the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers at Solden so you should be able to head a bit west from Niederau and get some great days on the Hintertux Glacier. Also last winter Kitzbuhel was open from October onwards on weekends so that might be another option to get a great long winter in this season. Let us know how your season goes.

Hi Jonathon, glad to hear that you have a new house in Niederau. I hope you get a winter like last year - cold and good snow. Your local bergbahnen will be able to sell the pass to you. Being Austria you will need paper and then some more paper - I am sure their officialdom have shares in the local paper mills. Anyway you will need a meldezettel and I think it has to be no older than 6 months old. Last year I paid Euros 429 I think, a considerable discount on the non-local price and certainly value beyond belief. My season card in 2 Alpes in 1995 was almost £1000 even though I worked for the owners of the lift company - crazy. The Tirol snow card has to be best ski passes anywhere - I can’t imagine getting more days on more lifts for any less.

Hey local one, yes I heard about your accident on the Stubai Glacier at the end of last winter - that sucks but what perfect timing. Hang up the skis for the summer, bbqs, don’t even have to carry your own drink - not all bad. And before you know it there will be skis on roof racks again. I can’t wait to get the winter tyres on again and see the cold dark glaciers in October - sommer raus mit dir!

Hi John, yes agreed it is a staggering deal - it works out at not much per day to ski although the apres bill of all those days on the ski slopes has to be considered. I am off to the Hintertux Glacier on thursday for some summer skiing - I need to get some strength back in the legs before I get Josh on his skis next month.
