BRIXEN, SKI WELT, AUSTRIA SKI HOLIDAYS
The ski holiday resort of Brixen, Austria is one of the best located ski resorts in the Ski Welt ski region. It is located toward the centre of the Ski Welt and the Ski Welt ski resorts of Soll and Scheffau, whilst in the opposite direction is the Westendorf ski area that further links onto the Kitzbuhel ski region. BRIXEN, AUSTRIA SKI HOLIDAYS IN THE SKI WELT SKI REGION
There are numerous ski and snowboard options in Brixen. Above the ski holiday resort of Brixen and lift linked at resort level is the Brixen sector of the Ski Welt ski region. There is a beginners and kids ski area located at the top of the Brixen gondola as well as numerous ski lifts and ski pistes which depart and arrive there. From this point it is possible to ski into Soll, Scheffau, Hopfgarten or towards Ellmau. The skiing in this area is mostly tree-lined and none of it is too steep or challenging. For those wanting to get steep terrain then head over toward Soll and take the gondola to the top of the Hohe Salve, the highest point in the Ski Welt and the location for the steepest skiing in the whole of the Ski Welt ski region. Heading in the other direction out of Brixen is the Westendorf ski area which from the 2008/09 winter season has been connected by a new gondola. The Westendorf ski area offers further intermediate ski and snowboard terrain as well as the chance to ski into the Kitzbuhel ski region. The ski holiday resort of Brixen has seen greatly reduced traffic following the completion of a by-pass.
