Apres ski up and running |

Ski boots on tables, Europop thudding across the valley and Jägermeister bottles chinking in the frigid air – nothing beats apres ski.

Tonight the valley was not only rocking at the Stubai Glacier base-station, there was also a light show projected onto the opposite side of the valley with snow-laden trees lighting up the night sky. New snow on the slopes today and much more forecast for the coming days – there were plenty to celebrate the great snow, although sun block wasn’t a prerequisite today – the skies were thick with cloud and snow. Whilst the apres ski big hitters are yet to open (Solden – is open on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers), the early season skiers are cramming the open glacier skiing areas of Austria and are lapping up the apres ski. Next week however the biggest hitter of them all opens for business – Ischgl will start their lifts and there is the usual massive season opening concert to officially kick things off.
