FIEBERBRUNN, AUSTRIA SKI HOLIDAYS

Located close to the Salzburgerland border and in the middle of a vast ski region in Tirol including the Kitzbuhel ski area, Fieberbrunn is the off-piste ski area of choice for Kitzbuhel locals after a big snowfall. The Fieberbrunn ski area specialises in ‘freeride’ off-piste skiing with guides and clinics on offer throughout the resort. The ski holiday resort of Fieberbrunn is a decent sized town and there is accommodation located at the base-station in addition to the town of Fieberbrunn.

FIEBERBRUNN SKI HOLIDAYS - QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

Fieberbrunn promotes itself as ‘class instead of mass’ and in a region that boasts many of the big names in Austrian skiing it may be a smart move. Two main ski lifts reach from the base-station into the ski area and whilst the area is smaller than some of the neighbouring mega ski areas the Fieberbrunn ski area is deceptive in that it offers considerable off-piste terrain as well as the ample beginner and intermediate skiing. Tree skiing in Fieberbrunn is huge and the top height of over 2000m is one of the better in the region. The snow record in Fieberbrunn is excellent and after a big fall of powder snow the Kitzbuhel locals flock to the area. On-piste the area is ideal for intermediates whilst there is a beginner’s ski area just above the resort base-station and there are a number of blue pistes. Ski touring is another popular pursuit in Fieberbrunn with some of the back country, off-piste skiing only reachable with touring skis. For off-piste and challenging skiing then Fieberbrunn is the best in the region and the locals in the region know this well.
