FLACHAU SKI RESORT GUIDE

Flachau ski holiday resort is one of the main ski holiday resorts in the region south of Salzburg. Flachau is located in a wide valley and there are ski lifts the length of the resort as it bends around toward Wagrain. Getting to Flachau from Salzburg is very easy whilst the region around Flachau has a great deal on offer including a brand new thermal spa complex, the Atomic ski headquarters and endless pictures of Herman Maier adorning the walls of the bars and restaurants.

Flachau is one of the principal ski holiday resorts of the Ski Amade ski region and its direct autobahn link to Salzburg to the north makes the resort popular with Salzburg locals. Flachau is a traditional Austrian ski holiday resort with low-rise hotels, farms and the ubiquitous church. Flachau is a decent size and stretches a good distance down the valley with the width of the resort coming from properties built on the lower slopes of the Flachau ski area. Ski lifts accessing the Flachau ski area leave from various parts of Flachau and whilst the resort stretches along the valley much of the accommodation is well located for one of the ski lifts. Achter Jet, Bingo Jet, Dino-Jet, Flutlicht, Space Jet 1, Yeti Jet and the Star Jet 1 ski lifts all leave from the resort edge of Flachau offering a great range of access points. Après ski bars at the base-stations in Flachau make for a great atmosphere and there are numerous facilities and entertainment away from the après ski bars.
