FULPMES-SCHLICK, INNSBRUCK , AUSTRIA SKI HOLIDAYS

Fulpmes-Schlick is a ski destination just south of Innsbruck and part of the Innsbruck ski region. Fulpmes is the valley ski holiday resort whilst Schlick is the name of the ski area. Fulpmes-Schlick is ideal for beginners, lower intermediates and those looking for some back-country off-piste. For better intermediates the Stubai Glacier is south down the Stubai valley, shares a ski pass with Fulpmes-Schlick and offers superb intermediate skiing and snowboarding.

FULPMES-SCHLICK – GLACIER AND FAMILY SKIING

Fulpmes-Schlick has good deal going for it for family ski holidays. The mid-station in Schlick offers dedicated kids ski area whilst in the main valley floor of the Schlick ski area there is a long and gentle ski piste that is perfect for learning. Lower intermediate skiers and snowboarders can make loops of this circuit from the top-station to the mid-station whilst there is also a ski piste back down to the base lift station. All the skiing in Schlick takes place in a large natural rock bowl. Off-piste routes through the trees can offer some great options, especially in good snow, with some steep routes on the west of the ski area. For intermediates staying in Fulpmes there is the superb Stubai Glacier just south down the valley which offers some of the best intermediate skiing in the Innsbruck ski region. The Stubai Glacier is also superb for families with one of the best kids programs in Austria located at the Gamsgarten lift complex on the glacier. In the Innsbruck ski region Innsbruck-Nordpark and Axamer Lizum are the stand-out areas to visit.
