GERLOS SKI RESORT – GREAT SNOW, APRES SKI AND SETTING

The Gerlos ski resort is located at 1250m on a high alpine pass linking the ski regions of Tirol and Salzburg. The setting is wonderful in a high valley with the resort of Gerlos stretching along the river that runs through the valley. The resort has great après ski as well as some relaxed riverside walking. Buildings in Gerlos are low rise and many hotels and apartments are located along the main central road that runs through the resort of Gerlos.

GERLOS SKI RESORT – CENTRAL RESORT, GREAT SKIING ABOVE THE RESORT

Located high on alpine pass, Gerlos has a wonderful setting, a real alpine seclusion with views either way down thee valley and mountains bordering the resort. The Zillertal Arena of which the ski holiday resort of Gerlos is part gets a lot of snow and Gerlos deep in snow can look superb. Running through the resort is the main Gerlos road as well as a river that runs parallel to it. Much of the resort facilities in Gerlos are located along the main resort road, whilst the river offers riverside walking that offers a more peaceful route through the resort. Gerlos is the biggest of the 3 Zillertal Arena ski holiday resorts and is located centrally within the ski region, Zell am Ziller is larger but is more of a region town than a ski holiday resort. There is a large beginners ski area in the resort itself and several pistes runs back down into Gerlos. The main gondola in the resort runs from the beginners ski area in Gerlos, just outside the central area. Gerlos has some of the best après ski in the region but for those wanting to escape the post ski celebrations there are many peaceful areas to the resort of Gerlos.
