Austria has 3 ski holiday resorts located at over 2000m and the second highest ski holiday resort in the Alps. Austrian glacier skiing is rated as the best in the Alps with ski lifts located at over 3400m, with big glacier ski areas and excellent ski lift facilities. Ski deals, snow reports & resort tips!STUBAI GLACIER
Skiing up to 3210m just south of Innsbruck on the Stubai Glacier. The Stubai Glacier offers long ski seasons as well as often excellent snow conditions during the winter months.
SOLDEN GLACIER
Solden has skiing to over 3200m on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers - the glaciers host the season opening FIS ski race each winter. The Solden glaciers are lift linked from the Solden ski area.
HINTERTUX GLACIER
Still offering year round skiing, the Hintertux Glacier has skiing to 3250m at the end of the Zillertal Valley. The summer months are popular in the snow park on the Hintertux Glacier.
HOCHGURGL
Located at 2150m Hochgurgl is the highest ski holiday resort in Austria. Hochgurgl is ski-in, ski-out and lift and ski piste linked to Obergurgl. Together they provide one of the most snow sure areas in Austria.
HOCHSOLDEN
Some 700m+ above Solden, located at over 2000m, Hochsolden is ski-in, ski-out, has access to the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers and is the 2nd highest ski holiday resort in Austria.
KUHTAI
Kuhtai is the 3rd highest ski holiday resort in Austria is located conveniently close to Innsbruck at over 2000m. Much of the accommodation in Kuhtai is ski-in, ski-out or slope side.
PITZTAL GLACIER
The highest ski lift in Austria is located on the Pitztal Glacier and there are plans to link the base-station area with the Solden glaciers. Skiing reaches over 3400m and the Pitztal Glacier is linked to Rifflsee.
KAUNERTAL GLACIER
With a proposed lift that would be the highest in Austria, the Kaunertal Glacier currently has skiing to 3200m and has one of the best snow parks in the region. The Glacier is set amongst wonderful nature.
KITZSTEINHORN GLACIER
The biggest and best glacier skiing south of Salzburg, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier has skiing to over 3000m with superb views over Zell am See and its lake. The ski pass includes Zell am See - Kaprun.
OBERGURGL
Obergurgl may be the lower resort in the Obergurgl - Hochgurgl ski area but located at over 1900m the resort has a superb snow record and a long and reliable ski season.
OBERTAUERN
Obertauern is the highest ski resort south of Salzburg and has one of the best snow records in the Alps. Obertauern is located on a high altitude pass with skiing on both sides of the valley.
