Hochzeiger is the ski area above the village of Jerzens in the Pitztal valley, Austria. Hochzeiger is famous for being the home ski area of Benni Raich, the champion skier. Located close to the entrance of the mighty Pitztal valley, Hochzeiger has a good top height and is part of the Pitztal ski region that includes Rifflsee and the Pitztal Glacier, with the highest altitude ski lift in Austria.

HOCHZEIGER SKI HOLIDAYS - PART OF THE PITZTAL SKI REGION

The Hochzeiger ski area is the most easily accessed ski area in the Pitztal valley and is part of the Pitztal ski region, with glacier skiing on offer further down the valley at the Pitztal Glacier and the highest ski lift in Austria. Rifflsee located close to the base-station of the Pitztal Glacier offers another ski option with high altitude skiing. The skiing in Hochzeiger is largely for good intermediates without too much steep skiing. Race programs flourish in Hochzeiger, mainly due to the Benni Raich influence, the local champion skier whose home ski area is Hochzeiger. With a top lift height of 2450m Hochzeiger offers pretty snow sure skiing. There is accommodation around the base-station in Hochzeiger although many people also stay in Jerzens, the ski holiday resort that is located further below in the Pitztal valley. The Hochzeiger ski area is popular with families, mainly local families who seem to be banking on their kids being the next ‘Blitz from Pitz’ as Raich is known.
