Hochzillertal is served by the ski holiday resort of Kaltenbach in the Zillertal Valley. The Hochzillertal ski area links with Hochfugen to create a good sized intermediate ski region. The vertical at Hochzillertal is getting on for 2km, whilst the Stefan Eberharter downhill ski piste is a real draw. The Hochzillertal ski area is located at the entrance to the Zillertal Valley and has great access from the Innsbruck valley. The ski holiday resort of Kaltenbach in the Zillertal Valley has a good range of facilities and a large lift base station.

HOCHZILLERTAL – HOCHFUGEN ZILLERTAL LINKED SKIING
With a vertical height between the Hochzillertal ski area and the ski holiday resort of Kaltenbach in the Zillertal Valley of almost 2km, the ski statistics are impressive. The range of skiing in the Hochzillertal ski area is varied with terrain to suit all whilst the neighbouring ski area at Hochfugen adds further additional terrain to explore. The famous Kristallhutte is found in the Hochzillertal ski area whilst the downhill race piste named after Stefan Eberharter is in recognition of Hochzillertals’ most famous resident. The ski area around Marendalm is ideal for beginners with a large and gentle ski area served by multiple ski lifts and on-mountain facilities. The rest of the ski area is ideal for intermediates whilst there are a number of black pistes as well as ski routes for the better skiers and snowboarders. For those not wanting to ski all the way back to Kaltenbach the mid-station of the Hochzillertal gondolas offers a way to download to Kaltenbach. Kaltenbach has a large base station complex with après ski bars, ski shops and car parking.
