Kirchberg is the neighbouring resort of the world famous ski holiday resort of Kitzbuhel and its main ski lift directly links into the Kitzbuhel ski region. Kirchberg is a good sized resort / town and is located in the heart of a huge ski region with skiing on both sides of the valley and beyond into the Ski Welt and Kitzbuheler Alpen ski regions. Kirchberg is probably the closest big resort to Kitzbuhel and has direct access to the Kitzbuhel ski area.

For those looking for an alternative to Kitzbuhel then Kirchberg represents possibly the best option. It is a good size and has an impressive range of facilities and amenities as well as links to Kitzbuhel by road and rail. The main ski lift out of Kirchberg, the Fleckalmbahn reaches right into the heart of the Kitzbuhel ski area. The extensive Kitzbuhel ski area reaches as far as Pass Thurn with impressive intermediate skiing on offer. In the opposite direction from Kirchberg the Ski Welt offers the largest lift linked ski area in Austria. The Ski Welt can be accessed from Kirchberg via the Ki-West gondola that operates close to Aschau. The lift links into the Westendorf ski area with a further extensive ski region on offer. One ski pass covers the entire Kitzbuhel ski region and for those needing even more terrain the Kitzbuhel All Star ski pass includes some Salzburg resorts including Zell am See - Kaprun and Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang.
