KITZBUHEL SKIING - HAHNENKAMM & INTERMEDIATE PISTES

The absolute pinnacle of the winter sports calendar, the Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm Streif race takes place each January and is one of the reasons that Kitzbuhel is such a global name. The race runs from the top of the Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm ski lift and ends up back in the resort. Skiers and boarders can run the race course throughout the winter whilst just after the race the course remains icy and challenging but a real draw for guests. Despite the fearsome reputation, the Kitzbuhel Hahnenkamm Streif is by far the most challenging on-piste route within the Kitzbuhel ski area. The rest of the Kitzbuhel ski area is characterised by intermediate skiing on a large scale. The skiing takes place on both sides of Kitzbuhel although the Kitzbuheler Horn area is pretty compact and more favoured by freestylers due to its parks. In the Kitzbuhel ski area, the skier or snowboarder can venture either toward Pass Thurn or into Westendorf and the Ski Welt ski region, both directions offer huge amounts of skiing for the visitor to Kitzbuhel.
