KITZSTEINHORN GLACIER SKI HOLIDAYS – SNOW-SURE SKIING

The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier offers the biggest glacier skiing area in the region south of Salzburg with skiing taking place from October through to early summer each year. Located just south of the ski holiday resort of Kaprun, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier has superb views across the valley toward Zell am See and for intermediates the skiing and snowboarding on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is excellent. Those visiting the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier will likely stay in Kaprun or Zell am See, the Kitzsteinhorn base has few amenities.

KITZSTEINHORN GLACIER SKI HOLIDAYS – VARIED SKIING

As part of the Zell am See – Kaprun ski region, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier offers the snow sure option for this varied and popular ski region. With skiing to over 3000m and lifts running from October through to early summer the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is ideal for out of peak season skiing or snowboarding or else for the likelihood of excellent snow conditions during the peak winter months. The skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is great for intermediates with wide and gentle ski pistes being the norm. The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier also has an excellent terrain park. Nearly all visitors to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier would stay in either Kaprun or the slightly further Zell am See. The skiing area at Kaprun is the Maiskogel and is ideal for beginners. The Maiskogel ski area is also located on the edge of Kaprun with some accommodation in Kaprun located slope-side. The Zell am See is the other ski area along with the Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and offers tougher and steeper skiing with superb views down on to the Zeller lake at Zell am See.
