The Konigsleiten ski resort has 2 very impressive attributes. Konigsleiten is located at 1600m in a region that boasts a great snow record. Konigsleiten can look a picture postcard resort in the winter with impressive snow cover and views onto the nearby lake and beyond to the glaciers and Italian peaks. Konigsleiten is also a ski-in, ski-out ski holiday resort with lifts and ski pistes running through, above and below the resort. In the heart of Konigsleiten there is a dedicated beginners ski area.

KONIGSLEITEN SKI RESORT - SKI-IN, SKI-OUT SKI CHALET HOLIDAYS

The ski holiday resort of Konigsleiten is a rarity in Austria offering both chalet accommodation and ski-in, ski-out convenience. Where Konigsleiten differs significantly say from its French ski-in, ski-out resort equivalents is the charm and style of the resort. Accommodation units are small, low rise and traditional in appearance and nestle on the mountainside below the trees. Konigsleiten might be unusual compared to many valley based Austrian ski holiday resorts but it retains the Austrian style and quality and added to that is the obvious convenience of slope-side accommodation. Konigsleiten is accessed via the main Gerlos Pass, a primary mountain pass that connects Salzburgerland and the Tirol. The road passes beneath the resort and any traffic within Konigsleiten is local. Given the ski-in, ski-out nature of the resort traffic tends to be light. There is a beginners ski area directly in the heart of the resort as well as some shops and restaurants, whilst there are a number of terrace bars for some afternoon sun and après ski – Konigsleiten though tends to be pretty relaxed.
