MAYRHOFEN SKI HOLIDAYS – GREAT RESORT & SKIING

Mayrhofen has an excellent ski area at the Penken, a separate beginners mountain at Ahorn, access to the Hintertux Glacier and is part of the Zillertal 3000 ski region with lift links into Finkenberg and Lanersbach. The ski holiday resort of Mayrhofen is big, low rise, has a great deal of facilities and the après ski is some of the best in the region. Mayrhofen is a year round holiday resort and has a great range of facilities including a railway station that links Mayrhofen and the Zillertal valley to the national rail network.

MAYRHOFEN SKIING – HARAKIRI & BURTON PARK MAYRHOFEN

Mayrhofen is part of the Zillertal 3000 ski region and has a great variety of ski and snowboard terrain, including glacier skiing and the world class Burton snow park. In Mayrhofen itself, the 2 lifts leaving the resort reach separate sides of the valley. The Ahornbahn accesses the Ahorn peak, ideal for beginners and families, whilst the Penkenbahn accesses the Mayrhofen Penken ski area, with a huge variety of terrain, the harakiri ski piste that is rated the steepest groomed ski piste in Austria as well as the world famous Burton Park Mayrhofen. Beyond the Penken ski area it is possible to ski into the Finkenberg ski area and beyond to the Lanersbach ski area. Also included on the Zillertal 3000 ski pass is the Hintertux Glacier, offering an absolute snow guarantee and year round skiing, just south of Mayrhofen in the Zillertal valley. Away from the skiing Mayrhofen boasts some of the best après ski in the region, with several bars and clubs serving up some great après ski. Despite the localised après ski, Mayrhofen tends to be an upmarket ski holiday resort with quality hotels and facilities.
