MONTAFON - VORARLBERG
Montafon is a ski region in Vorarlberg, Austria, in the far west of the country. It is close to the Swiss border and has a real Swiss influence to it. The Montafon valley is made up of numerous ski areas but there are 4 principal ski regions within Montafon. The biggest of these is the Silvretta Nova that has several resorts accessing it, whilst Schruns is probably the most rounded of the resorts there that have access to the skiing. Gargellen is the highest of the Montafon ski holiday resorts.
GREAT VALUE SKI HOLIDAYS
Gargellen is the highest ski holiday resort in the Montafon ski region. Gargellen has ski-in, ski-out accommodation in parts of the resort and is ideal skiing for families and intermediates.
Schruns is one of the principal ski holiday resorts in Montafon and accesses the Hochjoch ski area. Schruns is one of the more rounded and less touristy of the Montafon destinations.
St Gallenkirch accesses the biggest and best ski area in Montafon – the Silvretta Nova. The skiing in Silvretta Nova is extensive and ideal for intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
The ski holiday resort of Vandans accesses the Golm ski area in Montafon. It is the ski area with a huge hydro-electric pipe running through the ski area as well as superb views into Switzerland.
