SAALBACH SKI HOLIDAYS – HUGE SKI AREA & APRES SKI

Saalbach is one ski holiday resort of the combined ski area Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The ski resorts are essentially merged with their centres about 4km apart. Saalbach is the first ski resort reached of the 2 and offers excellent intermediate skiing and legendary après ski. The combined Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski area has to be one of the best ski areas in the entire region, it is large, interesting and when Hinterglemm is included, it has all variety of terrain. The ski lift system in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is very comprehensive.

SAALBACH – SUPERB LINKED SKIING & SNOWBOARDING

The skiing above Saalbach runs on both sides of the east / west valley and heading west the ski area of Hinterglemm is lift and piste linked, whilst heading east the ski area around Leogang can be accessed. Skiing in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is on a big scale and for beginners and intermediates then the Saalbach ski area is superb. Beginners have a large learners ski area close to the resort centre and the Kohlmais ski lift whilst in all direction out of Saalbach, the skiing on offer is ideal for intermediates, especially those who want to cover a large ski area – ski safaris round into Hinterglemm and Leogang can be outstanding. For those looking for steeper terrain then Hinterglemm has some tough blacks running back into the resort, this terrain can be easily reached from Saalbach and the Schattberg X-press lift. Much of the skiing takes place beneath the tree line and mountain huts are absolutely everywhere in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski region. Off the slopes the après ski in Saalbach is legendary, some of the very best in the region south of Salzburg.
