Saalfelden the ski holiday resort / regional town accesses the Ski Circus ski region that is made up of Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Leogang and is the biggest resort in the Ski Circus ski region. Saalfelden has no direct lift access into the Ski Circus ski area but has local skiing, is the easiest resort to get to and has a wide range of facilities as well as being populated by locals, giving Saalfelden an authentic atmosphere.

Saalfelden is one of 4 ski holiday resorts that make up the Ski Circus ski region, the others being Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Leogang. The Ski Circus ski region is the biggest and likely the best ski area in the entire region - for intermediate skiers and snowboarders the area is outstanding and for tough terrain then Hinterglemm has genuinely steep skiing on offer. For apres ski then Saalbach-Hinterglemm is legendary with Saalbach shading it for off the slope entertainment. Saalfelden is located between Leogang and Saalbach in the Ski Circus and has excellent transport connection to Salzburg, Salzburg airport and other local areas. Saalfelden is also one of the main towns in the region and has a great range of facilities and amenities - as well as being a ski holiday resort Saalfelden is a working town with locals needing year round facilities. For families the attraction of Saalfelden are the facilities offering visitors a wide range of services and entertainment. Apres ski in Saalfelden is very different to Saalbach-Hinterglemm - there are endless bars but you will be drinking with locals as well as visitors.
