SCHLADMING SKI HOLIDAYS
The ski holiday resort of Schladming is known for its FIS race course, its twin churches and sizeable intermediate ski area. Schladming is a working / regional town and the visitors are absorbed into everyday life there, creating a good, authentic Austrian atmosphere. The skiing is ideal for intermediates with just one challenging run, the FIS race course down into Schladming. Après ski around the base station at Schladming is fun whilst the town has a good deal of facilities and entertainment.

SCHLADMING SKIING – INTERMEDIATE AND EXTENSIVE
The Schladming ski piste map is a sea of red and blue ski pistes. The skiing stretches over 2 neighbouring mountains and it is possible to ski into the next ski area of Hauser-Kaibling or in the other direction over into Pichl and the Reiteralm ski area. Nearly all the skiing in Schladming on both the Planai and Hochwurzen mountains is tree-lined. The same is true of the neighbouring ski regions. Schladming really is an intermediate ski area. The one tough slope in the Schladming ski area is the lower section of the FIS race course that has a steep section just above the ski lift base station. On the opposite side of the valley to the Planai and Hochwurzen ski areas is the Dachstein Glacier, the glacier skiing is no more challenging than in the rest of the Schladming region but the snow reliability and long snow and skiing seasons makes it a great local asset. The Schladming, Haus (Hauser-Kaibling), Pichl (Reiteralm) and the Dachstein Glacier make up a large intermediate ski region.
