Most of the hotels and accommodation in Kühtai are ski-in / ski-out, with the resort stretching along the valley on each side of the road. Lifts and ski pistes are located on either side of the valley. The setting of Kühtai is dramatic on the 2000m plus pass with wild, treeless mountains.

KÜHTAI SKIING

Skiing in Kühtai takes place on both sides of the valley. The northern side is the steeper, less sunny side of the ski area, whilst the southern side has more gentle skiing, higher up and sunny slopes throughout the winter. The northern side of the ski area has a big and popular snow park whilst the southern side of the ski area has night skiing mid-week and on Saturdays.

Kühtai now shares a ski pass with Hochötz, the Ötztal ski area just down the valley. The ski areas are linked by a short bus transfer and Hochötz ski area offers a good addition to the Kühtai ski area. There is a good range of skiing in and around the treeline which helps during inclement weather.

KÜHTAI RESORT

Kühtai is one of the highest ski resorts in the Alps, located at over 2000m, on a high-altitude pass between the Innsbruck and Ötztal valleys. The resort is essentially 1 property deep for the length of the village and there is excellent slope-side and ski-in / ski-out accommodation access throughout the resort. Sports shops make up the majority of retail options in Kühtai but further down the Sellrain valley, there are many more shops available.

Much of the entertainment and amenities on offer in Kühtai are located within the hotels – there are very few public leisure facilities in the resort. The hotel bars and restaurants are open to the public and it is easy to walk between the accommodation. Buses run to Innsbruck and there is a whole range of activities and amenities on offer in this regional capital.
