After a day skiing the endless terrain of the Saalbach ski area, it’s time to dive into the truly withering Saalbach après ski – the best south of Salzburg. Those heading to Saalbach on a corporate ski trip are advised to rest well prior to arrival!

Snowflake

Saalbach is a central part of the superb Ski Circus ski region that includes Hinterglemm, Leogang and the powder ski / freride Mecca of Fieberbrunn. There are lifts and ski pistes as far as you can see with a link to Zell am See bringing in further terrain. The ski region is the best in the region south of Salzburg and there is the snow-sure Kitzsteinhorn Glacier around 20 miles away for an absolute snow guarantee.

With large numbers of mixed ability skiers, corporate ski trips require diverse terrain and Saalbach certainly offers that from the gentle beginner slopes at resort level and intermediate cruisers above Saalbach, to the steep skiing around Hinterglemm and the fantastic off-piste of Fieberbrunn.

Low-rise and effectively merging with Hinterglemm, the neighbour 4 km from Saalbach, the resort has endless bars, hotels and ski lifts on each side of the valley. Après ski in Saalbach is some of the best in the region and there are numerous huts and slope-side watering holes that can prove difficult to ignore. These après ski hubs are the glue binding all corporate ski groups together, ensuring new chapters of company folklore are written.

Non-skiers on corporate ski events to Saalbach can find numerous activities and distractions in Saalbach, including resort, mountain, and air activities. Additionally, Hinterglemm is located just a short distance away and Zell am See and Kaprun can be easily reached for lake activities or the best spa in the region at the Tauern Spa.

SAALBACH SKIING

Saalbach offers the biggest and probably the best skiing in the region south of Salzburg. The valley which is also home to Hinterglemm offers skiing on both sides as well in the next valley, above the ski resort of Leogang. Intermediate skiing is abundant whilst the mountains above Hinterglemm offer the best steep skiing.

With the lift link to Fieberbrunn, the Ski Circus region (of which Saalbach is an integral part) got bigger and better, accessing the superb snow and off-piste terrain of the ski area.

The recently completed zellamseeXpress ski lift link with the Zell am See ski area adds steep terrain and lakeside skiing. For those visiting at the beginning or end of the season, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is just 20 miles down the road, offering skiing to over 3000m from October through to the summer.

Mountain huts line the ski pistes and the beginners ski sector in Saalbach boasts a range of pumping après ski bars, offering the perfect transition from day to night.

SAALBACH RESORT

Saalbach occupies a long valley with its border effectively merging with the neighbouring resort of Hinterglemm. Saalbach is low-rise with a great range of accommodation and entertainment. There is skiing on both sides of the valley and lifts leave from each side of the resort.

Importantly for mixed ability corporate ski event groups are the access to the varied terrain – with the beginners slopes on the edge of the village centre and gondolas leaving various parts of the village centre for the tougher skiing.

Après ski in Saalbach is some of the best in the Alps both in the huts on the mountain and in the resort centre. During the winter months, this après ski heavyweight is in full flow from early afternoon on the hut terraces and the umbrella bars located close to the resort centre.

The pedestrianised centre of Saalbach has a range of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as some quality hotels.

SAALBACH APRÈS SKI

Saalbach is one of the global epicentres of après ski. Action starts on the mountains at one of the many slope side huts, whilst the big guns of Saalbach après ski are located at the end of the slopes near the resort centre. These honey pots attract nearly all resort-bound riders and are often thronged until early evening.

Later in the evening, the action moves from the terraces to the numerous bars in the resort centre. Corporate ski trip attendees are unlikely to swell the queues for the first gondola ride.

Hinterglemm is just down the valley for a change of venue and more of the same. There is an après ski hut which offers revelry in the company of a herd of goats, whilst the beginner slopes on the south of the resort are also home to a large après ski scene with hotel terraces and umbrella bars.

Combined, Saalbach and Hinterglemm offer corporate ski event planners some of the most potent après ski options available in the Alps.

SAALBACH MEETINGS & SEMINARS

The activities, quality hotels and nightlife in the Saalbach area make it a great destination for corporate events. There are options to meet in a number of locations in resort, whilst the mountain huts offer some intimate spaces for seminars. Small and medium sized conferences can be accommodated in the superb TVB meeting rooms in the centre of the resort.

For larger corporate groups seeking a more formal meeting venue, then Saalfelden, at the end of the valley has a dedicated congress centre, whilst a little further afield, Zell am See has the impressive Porsche Congress Centre offering a wide range of meeting spaces.

To entertain clients, there is the famous Saalbach après ski, with evenings that can include the reservation of sections of raucous huts for private parties. There is ice driving in performance cars, in nearby Saalfelden, offering some great team event options, whilst there are several mountain huts offering dinner and toboggan descents.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY ABOUT SAALBACH

Everything is great thanks – although I’m a little jaded after “The best Company Ski Trip in 10 Years” - I’ve had lots of really great feedback from the team.

Thanks again to your help in the run up to the trip and especially upon arrival, it really set the tone for the whole event and was appreciated by all. Likewise the Après Ski ran like a dream and was really good fun.
