From its superb location between Lake Zeller and the local peaks, Zell am See offers 3 different ski areas in the combined Zell am See – Kaprun ski region, including the cloud-piercing 3000m+ Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. With a connection into the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn ski region, the ski area is one of the biggest in the Alps.
Crucially for corporate ski trips, all abilities are catered for with beginner skiing at the Maiskogel, endless miles of intermediate terrain in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm sector and epic powder and freeride terrain in the Fieberbrunn area. A snow guarantee is assured at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier.
Zell am See really works for corporate ski events off the snow, and non-skiers have plenty of activities to distract them skating, air sports, spa sessions, and winter walks, whilst group fine dining is possible in a celebrated local castle. ZELL AM SEE SKIING
The combined Zell am See - Kaprun ski region reaches to over 3000m on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier where snow is guaranteed and the wide and gentle slopes are ideal for intermediates skiers and snowboarders. There has also been a big expansion of off-piste, freeride routes on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier with info points and several marked ski routes opening.
Above Zell am See itself is the Schmittenhohe ski area that is lift linked from Zell am See and has ski pistes running back into the ski resort.
The Schmittenhohe ski area at Zell am See is probably the most diverse ski area in the Zell am See - Kaprun region with steep blacks, a good number of reds and some gentle blue ski pistes from the Schmittenhohe. The views from the Schmittenhohe / Zell am See ski area are sensational with glaciers all over the horizon and Lake Zeller down in the valley.
The 3rd ski area in the region is the Maiskogel that is located above Kaprun and is an ideal beginner ski area. The tree lined ski pistes are nearly all gentle on the Maiskogel. Linked from the Schmittenhöhe, the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn ski region now adds huge and diverse terrain to the Zell am See skiing.

ZELL AM SEE RESORT
Zell am See enjoys a fantastic location, wedged between the mountains and Lake Zeller. There are waterfront promenades on one side the town and the ski pistes and lifts on the other. Zell am See has a pedestrianised centre with numerous shops, bars, restaurants and cafés - a great place to stroll.
This is a year-round resort with a good number of locals and the atmosphere in the town is usually excellent. There are several quality hotels in Zell am See, some of them enjoying waterfront locations overlooking the lake that can freeze during the winter months.
In addition to the mixed-abilities ski terrain, Zell am See town really works for corporate ski events in that it has plenty to do for non-skiers, with air sports, winter hiking and skating and tobogganing amongst other things. In the run up to Christmas the Zell am See Advent markets are wonderful settings for group meet-ups.
The centre of Zell am See is compact with many of the popular bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Just outside Zell am See are several ideal venues for corporate ski events, including the best spa in the region, and award-wining dining in a local castle.
ZELL AM SEE APRÈS SKI
Après ski in Zell am See centres around a number of bars in the resort centre and the lift base stations. Crazy Daisy is one of the most popular venues in the resort, located between the centre and waterfront.
Crazy Daisy offers a heated terrace, ground floor restaurant and club. Zell am See has an Irish bar as well as a number of traditional Austrian bars which cater for the international mix of guests.
The location around the base-station of the areitXpress ski gondola is an après ski hub, with lively terraces and umbrella bars throughout the winter – an ideal meeting point for the corporate ski event groups.
The Ice Camp on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is another great après ski location for ski groups to meet up, with DJ’s playing on the sculpted terraces, high above the lakes and valleys.
ZELL AM SEE MEETINGS & SEMINARS
The Porsche Congress centre is the main meetings and seminar venue in Zell am See. It has rooms of varying sizes and can accommodate large-scale, international conferences and offers extensive business support services.
The Tauern Spa, just outside Zell am See also offers some excellent meeting spaces, whilst on the mountain there are traditional as well as more modern meeting spaces.
The Igloo complex in the heart of the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier ski area has some really interesting spaces housed within the icy domed structure where unusual meetings could take place.
