INTERMEDIATE SKIING IN ST ANTON

The size, snow record variety and infrastructure of the St Anton area make it a stand-out area for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The nature of intermediate skiers / boarders means that they are progressing and there is a good distance between a good intermediate and an inexperienced intermediate. St Anton offers intermediates long easy blues, challenging blues and tough reds without straying off the beaten track. Timid intermediates are advised to choose their routes carefully - there are tough blue pistes in St Anton.

TRY / AVOID - INTERMEDIATE

INTERMEDIATE SKI & SNOWBOARD GUIDE FOR ST ANTON

The size of the ski area and its mixed nature mean that there are ski pistes to suit all levels of intermediate skiers and snowboarders. For early intermediates then the runs from Galzig down to St Christoph offer some gentle skiing that are served by a chairlift and are not exhaustingly long. Better intermediates are advised to head over to Alpe Rauz to link into either Stuben or Lech - Zurs, the run to this point is long and fairly easy and allows some easy km’s to be covered. Better intermediates have the following red ski pistes in St Anton to ski or snowboard - R11 Riffel 1, S4 Sonnleiten, S3 Seelenhang, 19 Vallugagrat, 14 Valfagehrjoch, 13a Innere Arlenmähder, 7a Tanzböden, 6 Seichböden, 37 Gstans, 20a Hinterer Stock, 21 Grün - St. Anton, 24a Nasserein, R1 Rendl Talabfahrt, R2 Gampberg and the R7 Tobel. The runs back to St Anton should still be avoided for novice intermediates - they are often narrow, busy and bumpy. A download by the Galzigbahn to St Anton is often the far better option.
