ST ANTON APRES SKI – BARS, APRES SKI HUTS

St Anton après ski is rated as some of the very best in the world. Apres ski action in St Anton often starts on the mountain and continues in the heart of St Anton. The lower ski pistes in St Anton can witness some pretty wayward skiing after dark as the après ski huts above St Anton empty. The base-station and the main St Anton street are lively late into the night. St Anton après ski is about as good as it gets. Austria is the undisputed epicentre of après ski and St Anton is one of the jewels in its crown. The combination of a great international mix of guests that come in huge numbers has developed an après ski scene that is rarely matched. Apres ski action in St Anton often starts on the mountain and the Mooserwirt is one of the top venues. Its location close to the ski run down to St Anton breeds an often ill-founded sense of security and abandonment which can lead to excess on a grand scale. In order to mitigate the dangers, the Mooserwirt closes early with the resulting piste chaos either highly amusing or hugely worrying – the scene of carnage and chaos on the dark ski piste is a common sight. For those that make it down the (usually) gentle ski piste back to St Anton, the resort centre is often full with revellers, diners, après skiers or those strolling the resort centre.
