ST ANTON SKIING – POWDER SNOW, EXTREME OFF-PISTE

St Anton skiing is extensive, it is part of the Arlberg ski region and includes Stuben, St Christoph and Lech-Zurs and offers terrain to suit all abilities. Expert skiers and snowboarders are best suited to the St Anton ski region with fantastic extreme and steep off-piste terrain but intermediates also have a huge ski area to explore. First time skiers and snowboarders have the least amount to suit but for a beginners area in the resort and some gentle terrain in St Christoph that is ideal.

ST ANTON SKI GUIDE – VALLUGA, POWDER & EXTREME SKIING

St Anton skiing is revered world-wide amongst the better skiers and snowboarders. The steeps around the Valluga are famous and offer serious chutes and steeps whilst the superb snow record of the St Anton region ensure numerous powder days throughout the winter. For those in the know, follow the locals over to Rendl for a day of untracked powder skiing although the newly developed, more central and higher capacity Rendlbahn gondola is sure to make this secret spot less secret over time. Guiding in St Anton is some of the best around and is essential in most off-piste areas. For those looking for less extreme skiing, the Arlberg ski region is huge and mightily impressive. For the intermediate skier then the Arlberg ski region is superb – long runs beyond the St Anton ski area are a great feature. The snow record in St Anton is one of the very best in the Alps whilst the neighbouring Lech-Zurs ski area has the second highest historic snowfall record in Europe. Beginner skiers can ski in the learners area in St Anton or else head over into St Christoph for some great easy skiing.

VALLUGA - ST ANTON

The highest point and maybe the biggest challenge - the Valluga at 2811m offers the chance to ski off-piste down into Zurs am Arlberg on some seriously steep terrain. This video shows the routes from the top station of the Valluga.
