If you want snow in the Alps there is a small region in Vorarlberg which gets more snow than anywhere else in the Alps and Stuben am Arlberg is part of that area. As well as some of the best skiing you will find, Stuben is wonderfully authentic and historic. The resort centre is small and resort facilities tend to be located in the hotels there but the quality, atmosphere and charm of Stuben, especially when buried under metres of snow are things to behold. Stuben is also all about quality; the limits on development in Stuben have retained the style, character and quality of Stuben. As for the skiing, you can go on or off-piste. On piste then the lift out of the centre of Stuben reaches the mid-station of the Stuben ski area for transit into the heart of the St Anton ski area or the ski pistes that Stuben has on offer. As well as reaching the St Anton ski area there is also a short bus link to the Lech-Zurs ski area, part of the Arlberg ski area and superb for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Off-piste then Stuben is amongst a very small, select number of ski areas in the Alps that offer outstanding off-piste terrain. Families have a wonderful resort in Stuben and some great on-piste skiing. Stuben après ski is fine dining and wine – go to St Anton for traditional après ski.
