ZAUCHENSEE FAMILY SKIING – SKI-IN, SKI-OUT, QUIET RESORT

The ski-in, ski-out ski holiday resort of Zauchensee is one of the best family ski holiday destinations in the region. The ski-in, ski-out hotels in Zauchensee mean immediate access to and from the slopes. Zauchensee is a popular day ski resort as well but the main car park is handily located at the entrance to the resort and traffic is diverted here and kept from the resort itself making for light traffic generally. Après ski is restrained and dies down very early, with most guests staying in the resort hotels and accommodation.

ZAUCHENSEE FAMILY SKIING - CHILD FRIENDLY SKIING

For families with small or inexperienced skiers the centrally located Zauchensee kids / beginners area is the place they will head to. It is a dedicated learning area with moving carpet tows and kids animations. The ski area beyond this in Zauchensee is classified all levels but there are a few blue ski pistes that run back to Zauchensee that are ideal for kids and families to advance into. Mountain huts are dotted all over the Zauchensee ski area whilst trips back to Zauchensee throughout the day are aided by the compact nature of Zauchensee. The 8 lifts that leave Zauchensee at resort level mean that families have a good range of terrain to head for and for families with older and more able kids then trips further into the Salzburger Sportwelt ski area are easily possible. From the ridge above Zauchensee, the ski pistes run down in Flachauwinkel and on into Wagrain and St Johann and then back round to Flachau. The ski terrain in this area is mostly intermediate, with much of it below the tree-line which is ideal in times of bad weather.
