Aperol on the snow, under blue skies

Spring skiing still has life in it, with several resorts still offering access to the incredible snow bounty of the 2017/18 winter.

The Austrian glaciers are set to run for many more weeks and are due for a top-up of snow over the coming weekend with cooler temperatures and snow forecast for higher elevations. Obergurgl and Ischgl are still open and welcoming guests to amazing snow conditions. There will be events and plenty of celebrating for the closing dates at the beginning of May.

We were on the Pitztal Glacier at the end of last week and every lift was operating, serving the entire ski area in what were exceptional conditions. By midday it was time for a change of pace and an Aperol on the deck of the highest bar in Austria - located at a cloud-piercing 3440m. Not a bad backdrop to soak up the spring sun in either!
