Axamer Lizum is a ski-in, ski-out resort with a few slope-side hotels. High above the city of Innsbruck, Axamer Lizum is a day resort for many Innsbruck locals and as such there isn’t a great deal of infrastructure in Axamer Lizum. There is stunning scenery and a real alpine feel though as few as a few après ski joints and a couple of restaurants.
Many groups visiting Axamer Lizum would stay in the valley below, in one of the holiday villages serving Axamer Lizum or slightly further in Innsbruck itself. Corporate ski trips planned around Innsbruck accommodation would be advised to spend a day on the snow of Axamer Lizum, benefitting from all the trappings that Innsbruck offers.
The best on-slope après ski action in the Innsbruck area takes place at the Dohlen Nest, midway down the women’s Olympic downhill course. This is a rustic hut with an outdoor terrace and a fantastic atmosphere. The hut is iconic throughout the region for its afternoon partying. The scenery is jaw-dropping – afternoons spent on the Dohlen Nest terrace are something very special.
Innsbruck offers a whole different après ski experience. There are no umbrella bars and ski boots are rare, but bars throughout the city welcome the best skiers and snowboarders of the region. Ultra-cool, urban bars with views onto towering peaks - Innsbruck is a pulsating city.
There is the possibility of hosting smaller seminars in the huts of Axamer Lizum, with rustic and modern options. Beyond Axamer Lizum, mountain huts on the northern fringe of Innsbruck at the Seegrube offer remarkable views over the city, valley and glaciers on the border with Italy. The redeveloped Patscherkofel is another mountain venue with meeting space and magical views over the city. Both options are accessed by cable car or gondola.
Innsbruck hosts some truly remarkable venues to meet in, including the Olympic ski jump – an architectural wonder that hovers on the Innsbruck skyline. There are urban / industrial-themed venues and ornate, historic meeting spaces. All the Innsbruck venues, new or old are surrounded by towering peaks which provide a dramatic backdrop to any meeting event.
