Nov. 10, 2013

One of the highest no-glacier ski areas in Austria with skiing to over 3000m the Obergurgl – Hochgurgl ski areas are traditionally some of the earliest non-glacier skiing areas to open in Austria. The snow pack has been building over recent weeks on the upper slopes and the latest snow has gradually reached the resort in time for the official opening.

The skiing and snowboarding season 2013/14 kicks off on Thursday and activities run through the weekend. The following weekend there is more of the same with discounts on ski tickets and ski hire as well as live music – with some regional acts performing in the night time concerts. We are trying to get over there on the weekend so will be sure to post some shots of the opening weekend.
