- Linked ski region
Linked to the neighbouring valley of Wildschönau, the combined ski region known as the Ski Jewel offers a good sized ski area for intermediates. There are numerous mountain huts, the scenery is wonderful and with 45 lifts, the on-mountain infrastructure is impressive. The resort centre features a beginner’s ski area, whilst Inneralpbach has immediate access to the slopes and some easy terrain.
High up there are some easily accessed bowls for off-piste action. The main Alpbach ski area is located on the opposite side of the valley to Alpbach and can be accessed via Inneralpbach or the Wiedersbergerhorn gondola located just beneath the resort. Ski groups and those on corporate ski events should find ample skiing in the combined 145km ski area.
Wonderful traditional huts with local specialities to eat & drink, followed by a ride through snowy forests.
Stroll through the wooded, snowy trails around Alpbach and enjoy the peace, fresh air & fantastic scenery.
Ski out of the Alpbach valley and into the neighbouring Wildschoenau valley via the recently established lift link.
Over the years, Alpbach has won town ‘beauty awards’, recognising its charm and architecture. The village really is dream-like with historic farms mixing with low-rise hotels. Wood is everywhere, as are ornate carvings which adorn the heart of Alpbach. Wandering through the village on a snowy evening is really quite an atmospheric experience.
There are a number of bars and restaurants around the centre of Alpbach, subtly advertised from the outside to ensure the charm of the resort isn’t compromised. The second village serving the Alpbach ski area is Inneralpbach, a predominantly ski-in, ski-out resort located slightly down the valley. Pretty but not as knock-out charming as Aplbach, Inneralpbach offers great access to the skiing.
