The Hintertux Glacier in the southern reaches of the Zillertal valley opens for skiing 365 days per year. Some glaciers like the Rettenbach & Tiefenbach glaciers above Sölden are lift linked to big resorts. All are spectacular.

SNOW-SURE SKIING
High-altitude offers the chance to ski outside of the peak season. It is common for epic powder days in the Austrian Alps from early October onwards, whilst the same can be said for the end of the winter season in May and June. Prices of flights, accommodation & venue availability can also be better.
And high-altitude, glacier skiing areas are not reserved for the out-of-season periods, the views and snow conditions in peak winter can be extraordinary. The Austrian glacier skiing areas feature impressive facilities with modern lifts and restaurants clinging to the glacial ice.
