Part of the massive Zillertal 3000 & wider Zillertal ski region, Mayrhofen offers the best skiing in this part of Austria. Mayrhofen après ski is legendary, the dining & activities are fantastic - for corporate ski trips Mayrhofen is standout.

Mayrhofen has an excellent ski area at the Penken, a separate beginner’s mountain at Ahorn, access to the mighty Hintertux Glacier (offering 365 days skiing each year) and is part of the Zillertal 3000 ski region with lift links into Finkenberg and Lanersbach - one ski pass is available for the entire region.

Corporate ski trips are all about mixed ability requirements and Mayrhofen really delivers on that front. There is everything from dedicated beginner sectors to the steepest piste in Austria – the Harakiri that is a pure folklore-making piste for corporate ski groups as technique unravels on the steepest groomed piste in the world, with dishevelled skiers spat out at the end of the run.

The ski resort of Mayrhofen is big, low rise, has a great range of facilities for corporate ski events. Mayrhofen après ski is as fearsome as it gets in the Alps, from mid-afternoon onwards the bars are absolutely rocking. The range of corporate ski event activities are superb with action in the air, resort and mountains.

Mayrhofen offers great options for meeting & incentive events with the impressive Mayrhofen congress centre ideal for larger meetings as well as some excellent spaces on the mountain for more intimate meetings. Mayrhofen offers a wide range of group activities on & off the snow and has some great dining options to accompany a corporate ski event, whether meeting or incentive orientated.

The Ahornbahn accesses the Ahorn peak, ideal for beginners and families, whilst the redeveloped Penkenbahn accesses the Mayrhofen Penken ski area, with a huge variety of terrain, the Harakiri ski piste (rated the steepest groomed ski piste in Austria) as well as a world famous Snow Park that has produced countless legends in the sport.

Beyond the Penken ski area it is possible to ski into the Finkenberg ski area and further on to the Lanersbach ski area. Also included on the Zillertal ski pass is the Hintertux Glacier, offering an absolute snow guarantee, year round skiing, and seriously good scenery, just south of Mayrhofen in the Zillertal valley.

The glacier also has some great steep skiing and excellent snow quality throughout the winter. Modern lifts and the variety and extent of the terrain make Mayrhofen one of the very best in the region. Group lunch options for corporate ski events are numerous with some wonderful mountain hut options available for skiers and non-skiers.

White Lounge

One of the original & best igloo bars in the Alps, the White Lounge offers very cool sounds in a great setting.

Mayrhofen is a reasonably upmarket ski resort with quality hotels and facilities. There are good quality restaurants and some cool, modern bars. The central area features the 2 ski lift base stations which are a couple of minutes’ walk apart, whilst ski hire and après action can also be found in this part of the resort.

The resort is easy to navigate on foot and offers some interesting activities for non-skiers including winter walks, paragliding as well as a train station linking the resort to neighbouring villages, as well as the Innsbruck valley.

There are a number of shops in this central area as well as bars and restaurants. Beyond the main street, Mayrhofen has a good range of hotels, many within easy reach of all the skiing & resort facilities and entertainment. Mayrhofen is a year-round resort and is one of the biggest towns in the valley.

For corporate ski events, the proximity to the skiing, the ease of navigation and the attractions for non-skiers make Mayrhofen a standout destination for corporate ski trips.

After the skiing is done, Mayrhofen boasts some of the best après ski in Austria, with numerous bars and clubs serving up legendary après ski. There are huge crowds at the top and bottom of the Penkenbahn from mid-afternoon – a twist of fate that makes escaping Mayrhofen après ski almost impossible.

For a more chilled après ski scene, the White Lounge at the top of the Ahornbahn offers an igloo complex with a labyrinth of rooms, as well as deck chairs outside to take advantage of the south-facing aspect. DJ’s play in the afternoon and the atmosphere is sublime.

The main street in Mayrhofen is thronged around the base-station at lift-closing. For those with stamina to last the evening, Scotland Yard is on-hand to determine unofficial company hierarchies – Scotties is a true institution, a place where company folklore has been written over many, many years.

The annual Snowbombing festival is a hugely popular, serving up music, comedy and some serious partying. There are comedy festivals during the winter and the season opening and closing periods can be lively affairs.

There are a range of dedicated meeting spaces available in the Mayrhofen Congress centre with professional support services available. The White Lounge Igloo offers some excellent meeting options whether they be social or more formally arranged, both inside and outside the ice structure.

The top station of the Ahorn cable car has some fantastic modern spaces, whilst there are a number of old, authentic locations on offer in the resort and on the mountain.

Mayrhofen is one of the biggest resorts in the region and offers a great range of activities for corporate group ski events. There are motorised activities on the snow, paragliding, snow Olympics, ice skating and glacial cave tours to name but a few of the options for groups and corporate events.

I haven’t had any negative feedback from anyone so far – skiing was great, weather was great, all the restaurants we ate at were great!
